Dawn Rodney joined the National Park Foundation (NPF) in 2022 as Chief External Affairs Officer, leading the Foundation team responsible for marketing, communications, government relations, corporate partnerships, content strategy, and brand development.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dawn brings more than three decades of experience driving brand growth, and leading innovative, high-profile marketing and media campaigns at nationally recognized organizations in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors. Most recently, Dawn served as Chief Innovation and Growth Officer at the National Wildlife Federation.<\/p>\n

Rodney brings deep experience in\u00a0 marketing, media, and brand growth. She served as senior vice president of marketing and brand at the National Geographic Society. During her tenure, Rodney led the global brand and unified its vision, messaging, and expression across the world. She orchestrated campaigns reaching more than three billion people across social and digital platforms and transformed the marketing strategies for enterprise-wide content initiatives driving significant revenue and growth. Rodney also launched the National Geographic Channel and Nat Geo WILD. Previously, she worked at the Discovery Networks, including Animal Planet, leading branding initiatives, and on-air strategy as well as producing campaigns for its highest priority programming. Elizabeth (Liz) Crego is a Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), one of the largest professional services networks in the world, providing international audit and assurance, tax, and consulting services. Liz is a seasoned deals consulting advisor with over 16 years of experience across many industries. She advises many of the world’s largest corporations and financial sponsors on complex transactions representing billions in deal value. Liz is a leader in PwC’s Divestiture Solution, and advises clients on public offerings (IPOs, spins, debt offerings), divestitures and acquisitions.<\/p>\n

Liz has received many accolades, including the 2021 Rising Star Award from the Healthcare
\nBusinesswomen’s Association.<\/p>\n

Liz earned a Bachelor of Accountancy degree from George Washington University’s School of Business in Washington, D.C. She is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in New York state.<\/p>\n

Liz is an avid scuba diver. From her first dive at the Great Barrier Reef to her more recent dives
\nin the U.S and the Caribbean, she has seen firsthand the impact of pollution and global warming on our oceans and sea life. Jose Astorqui holds more than 24 years\u2019 experience in the reinsurance intermediation industry where he is a recognized leader having developed most of his professional career in Madrid, London and over the last 14 years in Miami. He is a founder and until recently CEO of BMS Latin America & Caribbean for BMS Group Ltd \u2013 a London Head-quartered corporation and has now transitioned to be its Chief Commercial Officer and CEO of Lions Gate Underwriting Latin America, its underwriting platform. Prior to this he was the Head of Reinsurance for Iberia and Latin America at Howden Insurance Brokers, first in London and since 2008 in Miami.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jose is adept at working cross border and leading multi-cultural teams with an extensive network of clients and contacts in Latin America, Caribbean, UK, USA and Spain. He graduated from Universidad Complutense de Madrid with a Bachelor of Law (LL.B) and earned his\u00a0 Master of Laws (LL.M) from IE Business School, which ranks among Europe\u2019s top academic institutions. He practiced law in the Spanish courts for 5 years before moving to London and the reinsurance industry with Aon in the late 90\u2019s.<\/p>\n

Barbara Birdsey is the founder of the Pegasus Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to animal protection, environmental preservation, and public education in various parts of the United States, Africa, and the Caribbean. Previously she founded the Orenda Wildlife Land Trust in Massachusetts and helped co-found the Cape Cod Stranding Network. Before that, she was a licensed Social Worker for the Department of Social Services, Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She graduated from Boston University (M.A.) with a B.A. in psychology and from Bridgewater State College with a Masters of Education in counseling. She has been visiting the Treasure Coast area of Florida for many years and is now a resident. She still has ties to New Hampshire and Massachusetts, where she has interests in various environmental projects. Nikki Buffa provides environmental counseling in all areas of environmental law with a particular focus on the siting of major infrastructure projects, the energy transition and renewable energy, stakeholder engagement, and crisis management.<\/p>\n

As partner, Ms. Buffa brings two decades of experience working on energy and environmental policy. Ms. Buffa has focused her career on regulatory compliance and federal and California-state environmental policy and advocacy.<\/p>\n

Ms. Buffa currently advises developers, utilities, other clients on all aspects of project development from initial permitting and entitlement strategy through governmental approvals incorporating legal, political, community, and public relations issues. Her experience with landscape-level land and species management ranges from deep marine environments to the high desert. She currently serves on the boards of the Irvine Ranch Conservancy, the National Parks Conservation Association, and the Advisory Board of the University of California at Berkeley Institute for Parks, People, and Biodiversity.<\/p>\n

In 2020\u20132021, Ms. Buffa served on the Biden-Harris Presidential Transition team as the White House Council on Environmental Quality Transition Team Lead.<\/p>\n

Ms. Buffa rejoined Latham after serving eight years in the Obama Administration, most recently at the United States Department of the Interior. As Deputy Chief of Staff, Ms. Buffa managed a diverse set of missions within the 70,000 employee, US$12 billion department, including serving as a key player in President Obama\u2019s success in conserving more lands and waters than any President in history.<\/p>\n

Prior to joining the Department of the Interior, Ms. Buffa was the Deputy Director of Cabinet Affairs at the White House. Here, she worked closely with senior White House staff and agency leadership to advance the President\u2019s policy and regulatory priorities at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Departments of Interior, Agriculture, Energy and Transportation.<\/p>\n

In 2009, after serving on the 2008 Presidential campaign and Presidential Transition Team, Ms. Buffa became the Deputy Chief of Staff, then later Associate Director, for the Council on Environmental Quality at the White House. Dr. Justin Dunnavant is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology at UCLA. His current research in the US Virgin Islands investigates the relationship between ecology and enslavement in the former Danish West Indies. In addition to his archaeological research, Justin is co-founder of the Society of Black Archaeologists and an AAUS Scientific SCUBA Diver. In 2021, he was named a National Geographic Emerging Explorer and inducted into The Explorers Club as one of \u201cFifty People Changing the World that You Need to Know About.\u201d Last year, he was awarded the 2022 Stafford Ellison Wright Black Alumni Scholar-in-Residence at Occidental College. Fabrice Egros, who joined Lupin in October 2015, serves as the President of Corporate Development, overseeing innovation strategy, M&A, and licensing on a global scale. He is based in Naples, Florida, where Lupin\u2019s international headquarters is located.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Before his current role, Fabrice was stationed in Tokyo, where he managed the successful divestment of Kyowa, a fully owned Lupin affiliate in Japan, and was instrumental in building Lupin Australia, which is now the fourth fastest-growing company in the market.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Fabrice has held various strategic positions in major pharmaceutical companies, including Pfizer, Sanofi, and UCB. His experience encompasses local, regional, and global roles in clinical development and country management across Asia, Europe, and the US. He has also worked closely with venture capital, leading several pharmaceutical companies as CEO or board member.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Outside of his professional life, Fabrice is passionate about marine life and exploratory scuba diving. He has achieved the PADI Dive Master level and holds certifications in underwater CPR and complex gas management, among others. His dedication to ocean preservation has led him to engage in various activities in Asian countries, focusing on regions like the South East China Sea and the Indian Ocean. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Fabrice holds a Master\u2019s degree in drug metabolism and a Ph.D. in clinical pharmacology, along with several management degrees from Harvard Business School. Rear Admiral Tim Gallaudet, PhD, US Navy (ret) is the CEO of Ocean STL Consulting where he serves as a strategic advisor for a variety of tech startups, research institutions, and philanthropies. He is a member of the Board of Directors for Force Blue, the Advisory Council for Project Recover, the Editorial Board for the Marine Technology Reporter Magazine, the Director\u2019s Council for Scripps Institution of Oceanography, the Advisory Boards for Ocean Futures at the World Wildlife Fund, the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research, Americans for Safe Aerospace, the Sol Foundation, and contributes as a research affiliate with Harvard University\u2019s Galileo Project. He is a member of the White House Ocean Research Advisory Panel, the American Meteorological Society (AMS), Marine Technology Society (MTS), the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association, the Association of Unmanned Systems International (AUVSI), a lifetime member of the Navy League of the United States and the Naval Weather Service Association, recipient of the 2019 Monmouth University Urban Coast Institute\u2019s Champion of the Ocean Award, a fellow at The Explorer\u2019s Club, a distinguished graduate of the University of California, San Diego, and recipient of the U.S. Coast Guard Distinguished Public Service Award.<\/p>\n

Gallaudet is a former acting Under Secretary and Assistant Secretary of Commerce and acting and Deputy Administrator of NOAA. As the acting Administrator, he led the agency comprised of 20,000 federal employees and contractors managing the nation\u2019s fisheries, coastal resources and waterways, weather satellites, weather services, and environmental research. Overseeing a $6B annual budget, he led the daily operations of 18 environmental satellites, 16 oceanographic ships, 9 aircraft, 450 boats, and 400 technical divers, 6 supercomputers, over a dozen laboratories, and several hundred field sites across the country. As the Deputy Administrator, he led NOAA\u2019s Blue Economy activities to advance marine transportation, sustainable seafood production, ocean exploration and mapping, marine tourism and recreation, and coastal resilience. He also oversaw NOAA\u2019s Arctic research, operations, and engagement, and led the execution of the NOAA science and technology strategies for Artificial Intelligence, Uncrewed Systems, \u2018Omics, Cloud, Data, and Citizen Science.<\/p>\n

Prior to NOAA, Gallaudet served for 32 years in the US Navy, completing his career in thePentagon as the Navy\u2019s chief oceanographer, meteorologist, hydrographer, navigator, and senior liaison officer to the NOAA Administrator. His assignments involved combat operations on a Navy aircraft carrier, counterterrorism activities with Navy SEAL Teams, antisubmarine warfare support, deep-sea research and development, and forecasting weather and ocean conditions for Naval forces at sea and shore stations. Gallaudet has a bachelor\u2019s degree from the U.S. Naval Academy, and master and doctoral degrees from Scripps Institution of Oceanography, all in oceanography. Timothy J. Greene, Sr. is the Chairman of the Makah Tribal Council of Neah Bay, Washington located at the northwest tip of the Olympic Peninsula. Chairman Greene is in his tenth year on the Tribal Council, and his fourth year as Chairman.<\/p>\n

The Makah Tribe has a strong record of stewardship and engagement on ocean policy and fisheries management. Chairman Greene has served as Vice Co-Chair for the Governance Coordinating Committee under President Obama\u2019s National Ocean Policy. The Makah Tribe has long been regional leaders on oil spill prevention and response, vessel traffic safety, air quality and environmental health, ecosystem management, and habitat restoration. Chairman Greene has previously worked as Chief of Police and the Manager of the Makah Forestry Enterprise.<\/p>\n
